About Anthony Meyers
I’m a medical student (BSc) at KU Leuven with strong interest in (thoracic) surgery. As part of the Honours Programme, I’m involved in clinical research under the supervision of Prof. Ceulemans, Dr. Vandervelde, and Dr. Barbarossa. The current projects focus on lung volume reduction surgery (LVRS), with ongoing work on patient selection criteria, prolonged air leaks, diaphragmatic function, body composition and endobronchial valves. I’m also contributing to research in the field of lung transplantation. We presented our findings at the Belgian Surgical Week and the ESTS 2025 Congress in Budapest. Outside of research, I serve as Secretary of LVSO, supporting student-led scientific initiatives at KU Leuven. Previously, I coordinated medical education projects at BeMSA Leuven. Currently reading Mythos by Stephen Fry.
