About Anthony Mimoz

Passionated of VFX since I’m a child, I start learning as an autodidact with every tutorial I find on the internet. In 2013, I join ArtFX, a VFX school in the south of the France where I learn strong competence in the global VFX pipeline and develop myself as a Generalist Artist before being specialized in Compositing. In 2018, I finish my student final project, a short movie called ‘Dumbtime’ after 1 year of work as VFX supervisor in a team of 5 Artists. During the post-production, I do mostly some compositing for our team but I also help the other teams as an compositing specialist. I start developing tools and workflows to be more efficient and I also keep doing some CGi and Matte Painting stuff. Then, I join Montréal. Where I start to work for my 1st company ‘Digital District’ as a compositing artist. There, I quickly have the opportunity to work on complexe shots,on defining the look of sequences and on mock-up of shot earlier in the process of creation. I also continue to develop tools for the team. In 2019, I join ‘ObliqueFX’ where the restructuring of the team make me compositing supervisor after 4 months. From there, I learn a lot of aspect of VFX like the Techcheck, bid projects, communicate with the clients, manage team, the planning. This experience allowed me to work a lot with all the Artists, finding solution, debugging, optimization, workflow, pipeline, develop tools. Working in a smaller team, I do concept art for some shots. Now, I’m looking for the opportunity to work in a bigger company to learn more skills, work on complexe shots with strong artistic direction. I hope to find a place where my leadership, creativity and enthusiasm will be my assets. My ability to find solution and work in team push me to want to be a lead or a TD. But I will be very happy even as an artist.
