Background

About Anthony Mucia

I have always been predisposed towards science and engineering fields. Whether it was taking apart my family’s electronic and mechanical devices as a kid (much to my parent’s chagrin), forming and leading my high school robotics team to two state and two national competitions, or working towards more accurate monitoring and predictions of drought through data assimilation in both my masters and PhD studies, this predisposition hasn’t changed. My meteorology and climatology undergraduate background piqued my interest in space and satellite sciences. This interest led to my masters and PhD theses using satellite remote sensing in data assimilation, which are helping better prepare stakeholders for extreme weather and climate events. As science and technology advance, my interests and passions align with industry changing developments in physical, environmental, and planetary sciences. Modern, discipline-spanning, problems are relying more and more on solutions from these sciences. Coupled with my ability to communicate and connect with people, and my international scientific experience, I am eager to start solving these problems while advancing the understanding of our world. Specialties: Remote sensing; Data assimilation; Planetary science; Meteorology; Climatology; Data processing and analysis; Python
