About Anthony Murphy

I have experience and a strong interest in digital conversion. I currently teach at Georgia Perimeter College, and design PowerPoint presentations to correspond with my lectures. I also covert these presentations into PDF files so that my students can access the information later on. I have experience and education in writing and editing. Most recently, I developed and edited written material and keywords for AT & T/BellSouth’s Web site ad accounts published on Google, Yahoo and MSN. My work included updating descriptions, keywords and links to make sure information and access were current. I also wrote Yellowpages.com YouTube video ads. I edited and uploaded HTML documents and other content related to the MCI/Verizon Business merger using Dreamweaver and Documentum. I also have experience as a Knowledge Engineer for Cingular Wireless. The job involved technical writing and content maintenance for the company's knowledge management database. This meant making technical and promotional information accessible to the company's customer service representatives. In this capacity, I had to often condense complex material or edit written material for clarity. My duties also included writing customer service and troubleshooting technical information for new products and services. With my Logistics Manager/Lead Editor job at Kaplan Communications, I managed a group of Web developers and was responsible for editing their work and making sure that the material was sent to the client (IMVI - a subsidiary of BellSouth) by the end of each day. I also have three years of experience teaching English composition at the University of Georgia, which provides me with a strong background in training. I am seeking an opportunity as an editor or writer and believe that I can be a valuable asset for any company willing to hire me.
