About Anthony Owens

Anthony D. Owens serves as vice president of marketing and communications at City First Bank, the largest Black-led bank in the United Stated. He is the former director of media relations at Howard University. He also previously served as the senior director of partnerships and communications in the corporate citizenship department at Sodexo. He is responsible for managing Sodexo’s partnerships with NGOs, Community Based Organizations, and Governmental Agencies dealing with sustainability, wellness, and community development. He also handles internal and external communications within the corporate citizenship department.Mr. Owens previously served as director of media relations and issues management for Sodexo. Where he was responsible for outreach to mainstream and business media. He has over 20 years of communications experience with companies such as Nike, Inc. to United Way of the National Capital Area where he played a major visible role in reshaping the organization’s image. He also has served as vice president of marketing and promotions with Edelman Worldwide, the largest privately owned public relations company in the world.Mr. Owens holds a master's degree in marketing from DePaul University.
