About Anthony Papetti

Anthony's practice focuses on environmental and product regulatory compliance, particularly in the automotive industry, and complex environmental litigation. For nearly three years, Anthony was extensively involved in the Department of Justice-appointed Independent Corporate Compliance Monitor and Auditor matter in connection with the Volkswagen AG diesel emissions proceedings (also known as "Dieselgate"). During this experience, he gained tremendous insight into sophisticated domestic and foreign corporate compliance management systems, internal auditing, the creation of complex internal controls, and the automotive product development process, including both domestic and international vehicle emissions certification regimes. He continues to advise clients on environmental regulatory compliance, product compliance policies, and other corporate compliance matters. He also represents a diverse array of clients in complex environmental litigation. Representative matters include representing clients at different contaminated properties and remediation matters under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (Superfund/CERCLA), similar state statutes, and toxic tort/product liability claims. He also represents clients in connection with citizen suits brought under the Clean Water Act (CWA) and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Further, he also has a robust practice representing and advising agricultural, chemical, and biotech clients, specifically in protecting clients' data compensation rights under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). Anthony also serves as the firm’s Co-Chair of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee. He has served in the committee's leadership since 2017. Anthony was also the firm's Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity Pathfinder in 2018 and Fellow in 2024. He is also the Co-Chair of the firm's Of Counsel Committee.
