About Anthony Pineda

I am a first-generation college graduate from San José State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Child and Adolescent Development. I am currently working towards a Master's in Counseling and Guidance, Pupil Personnel Credential, and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor preparation at SJSU. I strive to be a change agent for diverse K-12 students, advocating for equity and inclusion. I am deeply committed to developing the skills necessary to look into educational policies and programs that impact the academic lives of low-income, culturally, linguistically, and neurally diverse students. My goal is to minimize educational gaps and maximize students’ academic and career potential. I believe that acknowledging diversity and creating classrooms, programs, and spaces that are inclusive culturally, linguistically, and neurally competent fosters a deeper understanding of our scholars and helps them grow into bright, open-minded individuals. I recently served as an Extended Care program director in San Jose. Before my directorship position, I worked for the City of Monterey Recreation Division as a Recreation Leader and Site Director. Other notable job titles include Kitchen Assistant at SJSU's Child Development Center, Purchasing Clerk for Pebble Beach Resorts; Guest Experience Representative for the San Jose Earthquakes; and Dining Room Server at an assisted living in Pacific Grove, California. I have volunteer experience as a Camp Counselor, AAU Coach, and College Mentor. Through my education, professional experience, and advocacy work, I am dedicated to making a lasting impact in the field of counseling and education.
