About Anthony Pitman

Work Experience I am currently working as a software engineer at Siemens. I have worked as a tutor in which I assisted students with mathematics and electronic engineering related problems and course work. I am currently a graduate assistant at East Tennessee State University working as a Teaching Associate where my duties include teaching courses, grading, assisting with labs, holding office hours, working on a help desk, and helping with future course development. Computer Science and Software Engineering Experience / Class Projects I am currently a member of a team working to reverse engineer and update an existing website. The current website was written in Python with the Django framework several years ago and has not been maintained. My team has been tasked with reverse engineering the existing website and converting it to a WordPress based website with an SQL database and PHP language support. In my classes, I have worked with C#.NET in a Windows based Microsoft Visual Studio environment. Project have included data structures related topics such as stacks, queues, trees, and B-Trees; algorithms such as sorting, searching, storing, and writing; distributed systems such as socket programming, remote procedure calls, and peer-to-peer communications; design patterns such as observer pattern, publisher-subscriber pattern, and client-server pattern; and software testing such as unit testing and integration testing using NUnit and Selenium. I have also worked with other technologies as well. I have used Python 3.x in both Windows and Linux environments on various class projects including topics in Artificial Intelligence (Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Neural Networking). I have built a storage management system that used parallel processing (threads and processes) in a Linux command line environment using C++ written in the VIM text editor. I developed command-line game clones such as Zork in Java using the Eclipse IDE and in Visual Basic.NET in Visual Studio. I have studied computer architectural features on a Raspberry PI using C, C++, and ARM/THUMB assembly. I also have experience using git and using Github's boards and Jira for project planning and development tracking.
