About Anthony Simonofski

Pr. Dr. Anthony Simonofski is Professor of Digital Transformation at the School of Management of the University of Namur, Belgium. He is the co-founder of the Research Center on Management of Information and Digital Transformation (MINDIT) in the Namur Digital Institute. He is also part of the Collegium of Belgium's Royal Academy of Sciences, Letters and Fine Arts. In 2019, he received his PhD in Business Economics from KU Leuven and his PhD in Computer Science from UNamur. His research and teaching focus on the digital transformation of organizations through several lenses, including public sector transformation (smart cities, open data, digital government, e-participation), user participation, digital strategy, agile transformation, business process management and enterprise architecture. He mainly employs qualitative, action research, and design science methods to study those phenomena. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers in leading journals (International Journal of Information Management, Government Information Quarterly, Computers in Human Behavior, Business & Information Systems Engineering, …) and conferences (HICSS, AMCIS, DGO, EGOV, …). Over the years, he served as track or minitrack chair at various conferences and received the Best Paper Award at the CBI in 2017 for his work about citizen participation in smart cities. Finally, he is a pop-culture enthusiast and is the co-host of the Pop-Code podcast about the relations between digital technologies and fiction (https://podcast.ausha.co/popcode).
