About Anthony Soares

Salutations, my name is Anthony Gaetano Soares and I am a senior finance major at the University of Rhode Island College of Business. From youth my family owning and operating multiple successful restaurants in our home state Rhode Island allowed me to be indulged with a unique perspective and skills that are imperative to succeed in the business realm: GRIT, self motivation, discipline and most importantly passion. As early as the age of seven my family taught me the value of hard work and allowed me to diversify my skillset in the work place, working every position up until the age of seventeen including: dish washer, cashier, shift lead, office assistant, busser, host and many more. Starting so young gave me an early appreciation for the value of a dollar and the opportunity to experience a broad range of positions allowed me to understand the role that every worker held allowing our restaurants to be the best, most efficient they could be. However, where I felt an instant spark was helping my mom in the office. It was there that I would watch her financially plan and meticulously balance books insuring financial success. That was the moment I knew what I wanted to pursue. Flashing forward to the present, I am a licensed real estate agent in MA and RI, and I am currently pursuing a finance degree paired with a psychology minor. Additionally, I am an undergraduate teaching assistant, an aggressive investor in the stock market, a nanny, and a dancer at the URI Dance Company. A couple fun facts about me are that I’ve saved a life, and before I could walk I taught myself to climb out of my crib! I'm eager to hear from you, I can be reached at anthony_soares@uri.edu
