About Anthony Steed

I am a recent graduate of Roger Williams University, where I majored in Anthropology & Sociology while minoring in Political Science and Business. My academic background includes coursework in Cultural Anthropology, Sociology of Cities, Social Stratification, American Government, Political economies, Economics, Management, and Business Enterprise. Through my class work and time at Roger Williams, I have written and engaged in research projects such as a gentrification study of Providence, RI, a social study on community, space, and built environment titled "Java Junction", and a social and cultural analysis of sneaker culture and streetwear fashion titled "Heat or Hype: A Social and Cultural Analysis of Sneaker Culture and Streetwear Fashion". In addition to my academic and research pursuits, I have taken on leadership roles such as a Resident Assistant and Vice President of the Barbershop Club, where I support community building and social activism. I have also completed a research internship in the Reimagining New England Histories intern program with the Mystic Seaport Museum. In the future, I hope to continue to apply both academic and professional skills gained to begin and further a career in the field of museum studies and museum work.
