As a Senior Manager, Underwriting at Aetna, a CVS Health Company, I lead a team of underwriters who handle various funding arrangements for the commercial middle market segment in the South-Central region. With an MBA in Finance and 20+ years of experience in the insurance industry, I have developed a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, the customer needs, and the regulatory environment. My core competencies include analytical pricing, rate development, risk assessment, and proposal development. I regularly make pricing decisions or recommendations for new and renewal business, working collaboratively with underwriters, account managers, account executives, finance, and actuarial. I also explain rate development and competitive position to leadership, sales, and other business partners, using data and insights. Additionally, I manage monthly renewal block calls and meet with producers to discuss the financial performance of their respective block of business.
