About Anthony Train

Academic Family Physician, Medical Educator and Clinician Investigator. Less is More in Medicine. Driven by a deep commitment to evidence-based medicine, quality improvement, and sustainable healthcare, I work at the intersection of clinical practice, research, and technology innovation. Recently a Stanford Biodesign Global Faculty Fellow, I’m focused on developing scalable HealthTech solutions that solve real-world problems - such as an ambient patient safety wearable that detects medication administration errors in real-time to prevent patient harm. My research spans administrative health data, planetary health, and implementation science, with a focus on shifting prescribing behaviors and improving care delivery at scale. I’ve led major QI initiatives, collaborated with Choosing Wisely Canada, and translated frontline observations into system-wide interventions. At heart, I’m a clinician-educator, a builder of better systems, and a father of three with a passion for live metal shows, immersive console gaming, and turning good ideas into real-world impact.
