About Anthony Trigueiro

During the 7 years of working as a psychiatric inpatient and psychiatric emergency room nurse, I chose to pursue advanced doctoral training to expand my capacity to deliver psychiatric care to our most vulnerable populations. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I now provide comprehensive psychiatric care across settings to those with severe mental illness, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions. My experience as a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner includes serving vulnerable populations experiencing homelessness through programs at the Downtown Emergency Service Center, one of Seattle’s largest providers of homeless healthcare services. In this role, I contributed to the Opioid Treatment Network (OTN), the Homeless Outreach Support and Transition program (HOST), the Support, Advocacy, Growth, and Employment (SAGE) program, and the Crisis Solutions Center, where I delivered outreach, inpatient, stabilization, and recovery-oriented services. In my current inpatient role at Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center, I conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, initiate and manage psychotropic medications—including buprenorphine for opioid use disorder—and provide crisis intervention for patients presenting with suicidality, acute agitation, and withdrawal syndromes. I work closely with interdisciplinary teams to create individualized treatment plans, ensuring safe transitions of care while addressing barriers to behavioral health access. Guided by a trauma-informed and holistic approach, my practice emphasizes motivational interviewing, collaborative care, and recovery-focused interventions to support clients in achieving stability, empowerment, and long-term wellness.
