About Anthony Verduyn

Tony is an ADR Group Accredited Mediator. He brings more than 15 years of mediation experience to the task of facilitating settlement of all manner of disputes, drawing on long experience as an advocate and decision-maker. Recent successes include resolving disputes over party walls, rights of way, adverse possession and service charges. He offers private mediation services as an associate member of St Philip’s Chambers, Birmingham, through Anthony Verduyn Limited, but also mediates through First-tier Tribunal offerings. What does Tony bring to the mediation? Firstly, over 30 years in practice as a barrister (to January 2025), where he garnered a very strong reputation. In his specialist field of Real Estate litigation, he was reported as “… responsive and very amenable.” (Legal 500, 2025, tier 1 leading junior), “… with vast experience handling landlord and tenant disputes."(Who's Who Legal 2024) He was noted for “a calm, confident reassurance” (Chambers & Partner 2024,"Top Ranked" Band 1, Real Estate Litigation (Midlands), ranked for 12 years). At the Bar he regularly appeared in the High Court, Court of Appeal and specialist tribunals. He was trained as a mediation advocate by CEDR. Secondly, over 18 years experience as a Judge. He continues to sit as a Recorder (Civil and Family) and a Tribunal Judge in the First-tier Tribunal, Property Chamber, Land Registration and Residential Property divisions. In this capacity, he also mediates for the First-tier Tribunal. Experience, approachability and knowledge are the hallmarks of his work as a mediator; work in which he now exclusively practices.
