With a PhD in Molecular Population Genetics, I am a scientist specializing in Statistical and Population Genetics, focused on leveraging large-scale clinical and real-world evidence (RWE) datasets to drive impactful improvements in clinical outcomes. My background includes extensive research in Italy, Norway, Germany, and Ireland, focusing on population genetics and complex disease. I have since applied these skills in industry to address key challenges in immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMID) and other complex conditions. My industry work has centered on three key areas: 1. Pharma Partnerships & Statistical Genetics: I provide statistical genetics expertise to inform drug discovery and enhance drug target selection through the strategic integration of multimodal data, including genomics, transcriptomics, and longitudinal clinical data. Large-Scale Cohorts & Datasets: I have extensive experience building large cohorts with associated clinical data (RWE) and analyzing insights from major biobanks and Trusted Research Environments (TREs), including the UK Biobank, Genomics England (GEL), and All of Us (AoU), to accelerate research and drug development. Clinical Collaborations: I apply advanced genomics to real-world evidence, with a focus on deep clinical phenotyping, evidence-based medicine, and areas like immune-mediated inflammatory diseases and pharmacoepidemiology. I have a strong background in cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder management, and scientific communication, interpreting and presenting complex results to diverse audiences. This is supported by a publication record of 50+ peer-reviewed articles (>6,500 citations) and a track record of mentorship, having successfully supervised 3 PhD candidates.
