About Anthony Weaver

My career as a surgical tech is a real privilege, something I truly enjoy. I help save lives of newborn babies and pregnant Mothers and all of my efforts are dedicated to the memory of my mom who died of cancer 18 years ago. I was inspired by the care she received from hospice nurses to enter the healthcare field during (2008 -2015), which forced me to step outside my comfort zone as a professional wedding photographer with 29 years experience and to change my career. Now, I dedicate every day in healthcare, every surgery to the memory of my mom, and to the nurses who gave my mom her dignity before she died. I witnessed the power of caring and the effect it had on my mom. When there was nothing else that could be done, and it was tremendous. Thank you to all the nurses who care for your patients and lift their spirits. I have a purpose that brings me to work each evening with a smile on my face, a positive attitude, a friendly but quiet personality and ready to work. I was an exceptional photographer and now strive for the same as a surgical tech! My first travel assignment began in early February 2023 at MedStar Washington Hospital center. After my first 13 week contract, I have been asked to extend for 3 addition assignments in Labor & Delivery, ending January 27, 2024. I work 3/12’s as primary scrub tech, managing 3 OR’s and I enjoy assisting on the floor when needed. It has been a rewarding experience to work with a professional, caring and talented staff, the best I have known. The saying is: If you can work at MedStar, you can work anywhere. Very true! Looking for my next assignment in February to March 2024.
