About Anton Gabila

I have 8 years of experience working in government. We are the agency that helps micro businesses grow through the provision of interventions including business consultancy, market matching events, capacity development trainings, and equipment grants. In my first 3 years, I worked as the coordinator of the Negosyo Center program, a new program being rolled out which required Negosyo Centers (business consultancy centers) to be established throughout the province. Under my lead, by the end of year 3, thirteen out of twenty-five towns had already established their own Negosyo Centers, each serving the needs of micro businesses in their respective areas. Today, I work directly under the provincial director, this role allowing me to take on new and special programs that need to get done right and fast. I handle new programs such as the creative industry development program, startup development program, and I lead the Digital Strategies Unit of our office. These roles require me to network with creative industry players and enablers discussing how to align our initiatives so that we meet our goals and mandate while being efficient in the use of our limited resources. Oftentimes, these roles have urgent demands with limited resources, so I am quite confident in my time management skill and in my ability to generate resources. While doing this full-time, I co-founded a business that furthers the development of the creatives through the provision of a marketing and admin arm for players that do not have any. This effectively increases their ability to pull in higher value projects than if they did it themselves. All these experience gave me the insight to understand various business models and precisely spot the things that need to be further developed, modified, or sharpened.
