It’s day 6 of Ukraine’s War with Russia and a new front has developed. And on this battlefield, software programmers, engineers and cyber security superheroes are grabbing their capes and joining the fight. As many of you know, I’ve been working with folks from Ukraine since 2008. We have a large team of developers and security specialists who are based there now. Since the war broke out on Thursday morning, our number one priority has been everyone’s safety. We’ve largely succeeded in evacuating the people from city centers who didn’t want to stay and join the Territorial Defense Force (Ukraine’s volunteer army). But the moment our team members felt relatively safe, the number one question I’ve been asked is “How do I help win this war?” TurnKey has been built on one core value: we create opportunities for our team members to derive meaning from their work. And in this war, we stand with Ukraine and our colleagues to enable them to do work that meaningfully supports their country. The best thing that programmers and cyber security specialists can do (besides donating money) is joining Ukraine’s Cyber Defense Force.
