About Anton Sotir

Anton Sotir is a Ukrainian qualified lawyer, whose main expertise is international sports law, anti-doping matters, esports and commercial arbitration. He has acted as counsel in numerous proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT) and other arbitration institutions, and regularly advises and represents clients from all areas of sport, including WADA, international sports governing bodies, national sports associations and top-tier football and basketballs clubs. Since 2020, he has been included in a list of arbitrators of the Ukrainian Arbitration Association. A graduate of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University (bachelor’s degree 2010) and Stockholm University (LLM, 2011), Anton Sotir also obtained a master’s degree in international sports law from ISDE, Madrid (LLM, 2014) and a certificate of advanced studies from the University of Cambridge. Since 2013, he has been a member of the Ukrainian Bar Association. Before joining Kellerhals Carrard in December 2017, he acted as a permanent arbitrator and deputy chairman in the Dispute Resolution Chamber of the Ukrainian Association of Football, and had been of counsel at Lombardi Associates, with a special focus on Central and Eastern Europe. Anton is an author and co-author of many articles, chapters and books on commercial arbitration, esports and sports law. He regularly speaks at conferences and gives lectures on esports and sports law. In 2022 and 2023, Anton was named to WWL’s Global leader list in the category of Sports and Gaming issued by Who’s Who Legal.
