About Antonello Izzi

Senior Product Owner and Solution Architect with 30+ years in the IT industry. I bridge the gap between strategic product vision and operational reality, a skill built by doing both jobs. I currently own the Infrastructure Hosting portfolio at Heidelberg Materials: the global compute, storage, virtualization and data center platforms the business runs on, and the shift from fragmented regional estates to a standardized global product. Before this, as a Product Owner at Konica Minolta, I owned a computer vision platform I'd helped architect from scratch, and led delivery of a self-service model-training feature that turned it from an internal tool into a licensed product. I know what it takes to ship, because I've designed what gets shipped. Earlier, as a Lead Architect at IBM, I coordinated up to 15 architects on multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects spanning 60+ countries, consolidating data centers, migrating thousands of servers, and driving automation that cut operational costs by 30–60%. I've worked across on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments, with VMware, SAN/NAS storage, and complex multi-tenant setups under strict compliance frameworks. What I bring that pure PMs often don't: I can read an architecture diagram, challenge a technical estimate, and have a real conversation with engineers, not just relay their words to stakeholders. Entrepreneur (digital printing business, 2006–2012). Patent holder. Open Group Certified Solution Architect. Based in Brno, Czech Republic. In my spare time I practise and teach karate. My motto:"Fall seven times, stand up eight."
