About Antonetta Maxwell

Antonetta Maxwell currently functions as a Field Supervisor/Adjunct for National Louis University. As a former middle school teacher, Department Chair, School Improvement Committee member, and Administrator, she has a passion to see others grow and learn in the field of education, to impact the lives of others. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education at Concordia University, in River Forest, IL. She received her Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from National Louis University, where she is completing her Doctorate degree in Disability & Equity in Education. She is now the Executive Director of Basaleel Training Center (BTC), a new, 501c3, Non Profit Organization (NPO), officially established, August 2023. A snippet about BTC: MISSION Our mission is to empower individuals with psychological disabilities, as well as those with other disabilities, with the knowledge and skills necessary for unlocking their full potential and achieving self-actualization. Our dedicated programs offer a comprehensive range of supportive tools, resources, and systems that cater to the unique needs of this underserved population. HISTORY The passion for serving individuals with disabilities began when, as a child, Antonetta Maxwell, the founder, had an innate desire to befriend and help disabled children; some were ostracized by their peers for not being “average,” while others faced life-altering tragedies. This passion continued throughout her young adult life as she took college courses to build skills for helping people with disabilities. Eventually, the desire to help people with disabilities led to the establishment of Basaleel. Today, Antonetta is continuing her passion for serving people with disabilities as she work towards completing her doctoral degree, Disabilities & Equity in Education, with an emphasis in advocating for individuals with disabilities.
