About Antonio Capizzi

Associate Professor of Commercial Law at Sapienza University of Rome, Faculty of Law, where I teach and research corporate, insolvency, banking, and financial law in both Italian and comparative perspectives. I am also a member of the PhD Board in Private Autonomy, Business, Labour and Rights in the European and International Perspective. Alongside academia, I am a practicing lawyer in Rome, admitted before the higher courts, with expertise in insolvency, financial and corporate law (including securitizations, private equity financing, corporate governance, venture capital, insolvency, and banking litigation). My scholarly work spans extraordinary corporate transactions, investor protection, venture capital, corporate governance, and cross-border mobility of companies, with publications in leading journals (e.g, Giurisprudenza Commerciale, EBOR, Rivista delle Società) and contributions to major civil law commentaries. As Principal Investigator of the PRIN 2022 project “Thiresia” (on computational and corpus linguistics analysis of case law), and of an interdisciplinary Sapienza project on Renewable Energy Communities, I am strongly engaged in bridging commercial law with technology, innovation, and sustainability.
