PRO nitens A.G. is the Asociation between Forestry owners and Wood Industries, with the objective of develop the Chain Value production of plantations growth of Eucalyptus nitens in Chile. E. nitens is the third most important specie planted in Chile, and the one with more annual volume increment (35 m3/ha/annual). Chile and Australia have 70% of the surface of E. nitens plantations of the world (35% for each one). This especie has proven be a multi-purpose especie, and PRO nitens A.G. are trying to develop multiples products, having as main the Solid wood products (Plywoods and sawn timber), but the specie it's also used for chips for pulp, and biomass (firewood, chips, pellets). The surface of the forestry owners plantation participating on PRO nitens A.G. it's near of has, only with E. nitens (plus other species and native forest), almost has. of E. nitens with management to high value production, thinning and pruning for clear wood products. The wood industries associated to PRO nitens A.G. include 2 plywood companies, 2 sawmills and 2 exporters chips companies for pulp. Almost the 90% of the forestry owner of the group are FSC certified.
