Development agroeconomist with a successful track record in designing and implementing innovation, local and regional socio-economic development projects. 24 years of extensive business strategy, agribusiness and value chain experience in over 40 countries, having led or worked jointly with large teams of consultants in enterprise development programmes in Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and in Asia, especially in agricultural produce wholesale markets, food value chain, small business promotion and support programmes. More than 24 years of experience in agriculture and value chain with Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME), development and services, entrepreneurship and new ventures, business incubation centres, finance and development, as well as design and delivery of training for entrepreneurs, capacity building of agencies, business climate and competitiveness improvement programmes. Specific recent experience in the design, development and support to the agriculture and agribusiness sector and is a highly experienced in the fresh food value chain, industry diagnosis, value chain, investment promotion, and design, planning, promotion and management of agro logistics centres. Proven experience of over 20 years with SMEs and private sector development issues: advising agencies/centres providing services to the farmers and small business sector; feasibility assessment for start-up business funding; search of partners for joint ventures and commercial business agreements and strategic planning. Project Director with extensive experience in designing, managing, implementing and monitoring a variety of multidisciplinary EU/donors funded consultancy and training projects. Extensive experience with founding agencies including the EU, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank or the Asian Development Bank. Participated in numerous professional international trainings, workshops and seminars organised by ADB, WB, IADB, EU, CAF, CABEI, FAO and AECID, related to project implementation, planning, leadership development, coops and farmers organisations, agribusiness, collection & market infrastructure, agro-logistic centers and economic analysis of projects.
