My professional journey has been shaped by a combination of military discipline, academic exploration, and hands-on experience in business and administration. Serving in the U.S. Navy taught me resilience, adaptability, and attention to detail—skills that have carried over into every role I’ve taken on since. Wanting to expand my career options beyond the military, I pursued a bachelor's degree in Labor and Workplace Relations and East Asian Studies at Rutgers University. This education deepened my understanding of workplace policies, business structures, and global perspectives, giving me a strong foundation in both domestic and international labor dynamics. To apply my studies in a practical setting, I completed a business internship with the Ohio Department of Transportation, where I assisted with administrative tasks, data analysis, and business operations. This experience reinforced my interest in structured, detail-oriented work environments and introduced me to the financial and organizational aspects of government agencies. Now, working part-time as a receptionist at H&R Block, I continue to develop my administrative and customer service skills while gaining exposure to tax preparation and financial services. Building on these experiences, I am now pursuing an Accounting Clerk Certification at Portland Community College to strengthen my technical expertise in bookkeeping, payroll, and financial record management. This certification aligns with my past experiences by combining my administrative background with the structured, analytical nature of accounting. It will allow me to transition into a more specialized and stable career path, leveraging both my education and professional experiences to excel in finance or business administration
