About Antony Gnalian

I currently work with the Decision Support and Data Analytics team at Community Care Behavioral Health (UPMC). I utilize Tableau to analyze behavioral health care data to provide decision-makers with the necessary tools to make informed decisions on behalf of the enterprise. Prior to my current role, I was with the Allegheny County Health Department as a social justice analyst where I collaborated with epidemiologists to identify health disparities in various data sources and systems. I also served as a COVID-19 epidemiologist where I built and created COVID-19 dashboards using Tableau to help share ongoing trends of the COVID-19 pandemic to residents of Allegheny County. I also worked to improve the county's COVID-19 data to better inform the public and Health Department leadership's decision-making through various analytical techniques. I was a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy for a M.S. in Health Care Policy and Management. Through this program, I learned about the complexities of the U.S. health care system and developed skills in project management, program evaluation, and graphic design as well as quantitative skills in economics, statistics, GIS, and R programming. While I was receiving my graduate education, I also had the opportunity to work in a part-time capacity as a graduate intern for the Data Governance organization at Highmark Health. From this experience, I was able to enhance my data analysis and visualization skills using Power BI, as well as learn about the role of data governance and promoting its' policies across the organization. I spent 2 years as an IT Analyst in a leadership and development program at HM Health Solutions with a concentration in business analysis and project management. From this opportunity, I was able to develop my business acumen and learn new skills such as data analysis and visualization using Tableau, survey design and analysis, and technical documentation of processes and procedures.
