About Anu Hakala

I am interested in sustainability and I work for sustainable future. My tool is environmental education, but I have high expectations for circular economy and scientific and technological innovations. I have a scientific background in geosciences and environmental geology, a fresh qualification in studies for teachers, and experience in environmental education. But, more importantly, I have a passion for continuous improvement through learning. I want to be involved in the progress and procedures that help us better understand our world, our environment and our culture, as well as our own lives as a part of the whole. I believe that freedom of thought, an open mind and imagination can make us more creative and enable us to produce new innovations and solutions. I also believe in science and technology, but they must be developed by people who know their own history and culture, and who understand that science and technology do not exist by, and for, themselves, but within the concepts of history and culture. But along with the freedom that we cherish, we must carry a shared responsibility of our community and our environment. For this we must keep learning and broaden our knowledge of education. Can I be a part of your community or business and help create an environment where we could learn from each other? I learn, therefore I shall still be tomorrow.
