About Anup Krishnan

I am a NMC qualified Sports Medicine Doctor and hold a PhD in Sports Sciences with 25+ years of experience across the Armed Forces, Elite sports, Clinical Sports Medicine, Hospital administration and academia. Currently, I serve as Director & Professor at DY Patil University, School of Sports Exercise & Nutrition Sciences and Consultant, Sports & Exercise Medicine at DY Patil Sports & High Performance Centre and DY Patil Hospital, Navi Mumbai, combining leadership, clinical expertise, athlete care, and academic mentoring. Previously Head of Sports Medicine Departments in top military hospitals and institutes including Army Hospital (R&R), Army Sports Institute & AFMC, and Indian Military Academy, I've worked as Team Doctor for Indian Boxing team and Services team, and as Honorary Sports Medicine Consultant to the President of India. I have also served as Senior Registrar & Officer Commanding, Troops at Military Hospital, Dehradun (550 beds) and Military Hospital, Jhansi (330 beds) during the COVID pandemic. My work spans all aspects of Sports Medicine including athlete performance evaluation, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, sports nutrition, MSK ultrasound diagnostics, and sports injury prevention. I’ve presented 30+ papers at national/international conferences and published 17+ research articles and 2 book chapters. I also serve as Adjunct Faculty at IIT Madras for NPTEL-SWAYAM and was the Organising Secretary for IASMCON 2025.
