About Anupama Jacob

Ph.D. in Social Welfare, University of California, Berkeley, where I currently work as a senior researcher at the Possibility Lab. My research interests center on issues related to poverty and inequality, particularly in the United States. Other areas of research interest include (i) applied research in social work practice,(ii) financial capability and asset building in social environmental justice and human flourishing, and (iv) faith-based responses to poverty alleviation. I spent a decade in academia that included teaching applied research as a Professor across the undergraduate and graduate social work programs and serving as Director of Student Research (undergraduate and graduate) at Azusa Pacific University (APU). I also served as a Commissioner on the Council on Social Work Education’s Commission on Research for six years. Prior to my Ph.D, I worked as Publications Manager at the Center for Social Development, a research and policy center based at Washington University in St. Louis. I provided technical assistance to research and policy projects. I have experience in project management, quantitative and qualitative research, survey research, program evaluation, data analysis and visualization, and grant writing and management.
