About Aoidin Sammon
Graduated with a BA Honors degree in Fashion Design, from the Limerick School of Art and Design, I am now gaining unrivaled experience as the head designer of Freda. My international fashion placements thus far include, working with prestigious design houses such as John Rocha, Marchesa, Richard Nicoll and David Koma as well as assisting the highly successful New York celebrity stylist Liz McClean. I am now solely responsible for the design of FREDA, matchesfashion.com in-house brand, designing four seasonal collections per year. Setting the seasons creative direction for each collection through trend identification and fabric forecasting, catwalk reports, range building and setting strategic direction across all product categories. Developing each collection, draping on the stand, creative pattern cutting, garment construction and production of first collection samples. Fabric sourcing and buying based on in-depth product knowledge. Fabric and colour allocation across all product categories falls within my responsibility as does the drawing of all technical CAD’s, developing range-plans, tech packs and make sheets for production, covered by a pro-efficient knowledge of adobe creative suite. Working collaboratively with pattern cutters to develop the fit and finish of every garment has given me thorough technical knowledge of all aspects of womens-wear. Managing all creative aspects of the brand such as colour, identity, trend, look-book shoots, online V.M. and store retail as well as the entire design process gives me a very unique standing point. I have a clear understanding of commercial, market and consumer requirements. Having worked in sales for matchesfashion.com I have built up and maintained strong client relationships, working one on one with the FREDA client to ensure the product remains desirable yet essential to their needs. Developing the current brand, moving it forward in a more dynamic direction, with a fresh perspective.
