April Barfield is a highly accomplished professional with over a decade of public relations, event planning, customer service, program management, administrative, leadership, and diversity and inclusion experience. April has worked in the secondary, postsecondary, and community education arenas. Over the course of the past 14 years of her career, April has completed intensive in-house and relevant external trainings that have enabled her to build upon her innate talents and excel as an administrator and leader. Service to the institution, students, and the community has always been at the forefront of her various roles. Paying meticulous attention to the needs of the people being served is a strength that gives her great satisfaction and personal pride. April makes it her professional priority to ensure that she and her team are adept at meeting stakeholder expectations, addressing their concerns, resolving their problems, and going above and beyond the call of duty at every opportunity given. April has successfully and effectively planned, led, coordinated, and executed a multitude of events over the years including several large-scale museum, academic department, school district, and community events. She has been responsible for a full-range of outreach duties including recruitment, screening, interviewing, selection, training, and evaluation. In addition to being a capable leader with a strong customer orientation, she is also experienced with administrative management; ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures. April has a solid track record for implementing high fiscal standards and techniques, ensuring that all financial metrics are met, while maintaining and monitoring program goals and objectives.
