About April Jones

April is a certified practising Speech Pathologist (M.Sp.Path. 2018) and Registered Occupational Therapist (B.OT. April also holds a Masters degree in Ergonomics, Safety & Health (M.Ergo.H&S. April is currently employed in a part-time capacity as a Paediatric SP in clinic and schools. She is also a specialist contractor, providing Paediatric OT services in clinics, via telehealth, and through mobile visiting services. April has completed training and practices Zones of Regulation, Cued Articulation, Lego Club, DIRFloortime and she is in the process of becoming a certified ADOS assessor. April is very familiar with NDIS applications, assessments and review planning to endorse funding to support clients. April's recent studies in Ergonomics (Human Factors), investigated baseline Mental Health Literacy amongst police officers. April plans to undertake further research in paediatric mental health related to the challenges for children by associated with information technology - as it relates to their developmental, educational and emotional wellbeing outcomes. April was previously employed with a state regulator for Occupational Safety and Health, providing in house consultation to the Construction & Regional industries Inspectors. As such, April is well versed in matters related to the administration of Victorian and WA OSH legislation. April also has a wealth of experience related to Workers' Compensation & Injury Management legislation across Vic and WA. She previously held the role of regional Branch Manager of an accredited rehabilitation provider providing injury management to employees with complex work related injuries. Previously, April has worked in other clinical settings, including a role as an inpatient CAMHS clinician where she was part of the transdisciplinary assessment team. April has also worked internationally in the United Arab Emirates, where she was employed as as a paediatric OT in a private practice clinic. While resident in Abu Dhabi, April was also employed as a consultant for paediatric health to the Al Nahyan Royal Family in Abu Dhabi.
