About Apryl Lundsten

With over ten years experience as a journalist, public radio reporter and online producer, my role with USC Advancement melds journalism with marketing and media production in support of fundraising. Current projects include strategizing, implementing and managing the department's web presence and digital content and producing video outreach for campaigns. Previously, I was Features Producer at KDB Radio in Santa Barbara where I was brought on to help the station transition from all music to include NPR-style programming. While there, I created over 100 interview and feature pieces covering classical music, performing arts and culture. I'm also a freelance writer. My work includes everything from how-to tech pieces and public radio business features to personal commentaries and non-fiction books. My latest work includes a documentary short about activism and a weekly podcast about culture called RUFSM. In the past, I produced a pilot for a DIY show, an audio tour for the Norton Simon Museum/LA Opera and a book about money-making ideas for American Girl/Mattel. Other pieces include a documentary about Goya for the Norton Simon Museum, as well as features on learning disorders, cyber bullying, and cutting. I also write young adult fiction, have had two short stories published in Girls' Life Magazine, and am completing my first YA novel.
