About Apsara Windsor

I am an experienced senior radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Gosford and the Central Coast Cancer Centre, Gosford Hospital, NSW Australia. I completed my Bachelor of Science (Medicine) and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of New South Wales. I subsequently commenced specialist radiation oncology training at Prince of Wales, Westmead, Nepean and Liverpool Hospitals in Sydney. I became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2011 and undertook a 12-month research fellowship at the Liverpool Hospital in 2012. I have more than 10 years of experience as a leading radiation oncology specialist in breast and gastrointestinal cancers and was the Head of Department of Radiation Oncology at the Central Coast Cancer Centre, Gosford Hospital between 2015 to 2020. I was also the founder of the Breast Interest Group – Faculty of Radiation Oncology and am currently a member of numerous expert advisory groups, shaping the evidence-based practice guidelines in radiation oncology at a state level. I continue to be actively involved in research, clinical governance, quality improvement, education and community engagement. Beyond my clinical work, my main passion is education, training and mentorship. I am the current Chairperson for the Faculty of Radiation Oncology, RANZCR Phase I exam panel, leading the specialist exams for Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. In the field of radiation oncology, I have held numerous positions within RANZCR, including the National Phase 1 lead, National Phase 2 lead, member of the Education and Training Committee, Training Resource Executive, Assessment Executive and the chair of the Training, Resources, Education and Assessment Team. I was instrumental in developing and implementing many state and national educational programs in radiation oncology. I am committed to delivering medical education in my role as senior lecturer at the University of Newcastle and played an integral role in establishing the oncology medical student training program at Gosford Hospital.
