About Aram Barra

Experienced grantmaker, analyst, and advocate dedicated to advancing democracy, justice, and social change. As an Advocacy Advisor at OSF for Latin America and the Caribbean, I work to drive policy reform and citizen engagement across key thematic areas, including democracy, security, and human rights. With a background spanning civil society, government, and international organizations, I have advised the Mexican Senate and UNAIDS, led high-impact advocacy initiatives, and contributed to landmark legal victories—including a historic Supreme Court ruling on cannabis reform in Mexico. I hold a BA in International Studies and master’s degrees in Public Policy (NYU) and Public Administration (UCL). Passionate about turning progressive ideas into actionable policy, I leverage strategic partnerships, media engagement, and cross-sector collaboration to drive meaningful change.
