About Aran Armstrong

I am an environmental scientist and program manager with 30 years of experience navigating some of the nation’s most complex compliance landscapes for DOE, NASA, and DoD. My career began at the University of Arizona’s Laboratory of Isotope Geochemistry and Biosphere II and grew through leadership roles at the Radioactive Waste Management Complex (Pit 9), Los Alamos National Laboratory, White Sands Missile Range, and NASA’s Johnson Space Center Test Facility, and many other facilities across the US. Along the way, I have built a reputation for bridging regulatory requirements with operational realities, helping organizations resolve compliance challenges without slowing their mission. Today, I serve as Director of Environmental Services, where I lead development of Environmental Reports for NRC license applications and secure site-specific environmental permits needed for construction and operation of small modular reactor projects. My role is to ensure that Elementl’s advanced nuclear projects meet the highest regulatory standards while supporting efficient, safe, and timely deployment. With credentials including PMP®, REM®, and CHMM®, and a long history of successful federal permitting and compliance leadership, I provide Elementl and its stakeholders with the assurance that environmental and regulatory pathways are managed with rigor, transparency, and credibility.
