About Arash Aghigh

I’m a nonlinear imaging specialist and applied optics researcher with a passion for building tools that make advanced microscopy faster, smarter, and more accessible. Over the last decade, I’ve worked across three continents: Malaysia, Germany, and Canada, shaping a multidisciplinary career at the intersection of photonics, machine learning, and software engineering. My recent work focuses on second harmonic generation (SHG) and polarization-resolved SHG microscopy. I’ve integrated AI into these systems using GANs and denoising networks, cutting imaging times from hours to minutes while preserving high-fidelity biological data. This has enabled large-scale studies that would have otherwise taken months and significantly reduced sample waste in the process. I’ve also built control software for spectrometers in C++, transitioned full analysis pipelines from MATLAB to Python, and maintain the integrated microscope control infrastructure in our lab. Alongside that, I’ve developed fiber optics simulation tools and a LangChain-based AI assistant to guide users through complex modeling tasks. My goal is to keep bridging experimental optics with intelligent software developing systems that help researchers move faster, see more, and do better science. Whether in academic research or deep-tech environments, I’m driven by the challenge of turning complex, slow processes into scalable, intuitive platforms.
