About Arash Samadi

I am a medicinal chemist at Apertor Pharmaceuticals, a biotech company that develops innovative therapies for cancer diseases. I joined Apertor in Sep 2023, after completing my PhD in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Oregon State University, where I also published multiple papers in prestigious journals, such as Nature Communications. My core competencies include multi-step organic synthesis of complex molecules and natural products, handling air-sensitive compounds in an inert atmosphere, conducting kinetic and mechanistic studies of enzymes using non-labeled and deuterium-labeled synthetic compounds, and employing various analytical techniques, such as NMR, HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, and cytotoxicity assays. I leverage these skills to design, synthesize, and characterize novel compounds with potential therapeutic applications, and to investigate the biosynthesis and mechanisms of natural products and enzymes. I am passionate about advancing the scientific knowledge and innovation in the field of organic, natural products, analytical chemistry, and biochemistry, and collaborating with other researchers and stakeholders to achieve this goal.
