About Arch Grieve
Arch is a Lecturer at Sinclair Community College teaching political science and the host/producer of the Discover Dayton podcast, a podcast about Dayton's past, present, and future. Arch is a former Mediation Specialist at the Dayton Mediation Center, a part of the City of Dayton municipal government. He is a Certified Transformative Mediator through the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation. At the center, Arch has done mediations, conflict coaching, case management, strategic planning, and facilitations. He has also led trainings, helped with community outreach efforts, and managed multiple projects. Arch is also the former Chair of the Dayton Sister City Committee, former Vice President of the Dayton Council on World Affairs, and former Vice President of the Xenia School Board. Before working at the Mediation Center, Arch taught at the Dayton Regional STEM School (DRSS), teaching US History, Economics, Government, and two political science College Credit Plus courses as an Instructor through Wright State University. From 2015-17 he served as the Community Outreach Director for the school, where he worked to tell the story of the Dayton Regional STEM School and enlist the support of partners in helping the school fulfill its Mission of enhancing the region's human capital. Arch earned his M.A. from Wright State University in International and Comparative Politics in 2015, where he studied the impact of nonviolent resistance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Before that he attended the University of Dayton after earning his undergraduate degree at Wright State. He is licensed to teach AYA Social Studies in grades 7-12. Arch also sat on the Xenia Community Schools Board of Education from 2014-2015, serving as Vice President in 2015.
