About Archan Mitra

Mr. Archan Mitra is an Assistant Professor at the School of Media Studies at Presidency University Bangalore, formerly Media Centre In-Charge and Assistant Professor with Sharda University. He is a former Academic Associate (Communication Area) of the Indian Institute of Management Kashipur (Institute of National Importance) and pursuing his doctoral thesis from Visva-Bharati Santiniketan, West Bengal (Central University of National Importance), in the area of Information and Communication logistical modeling for environmental sustenance. His other research interests include Science Communication (Certified by ISCOS), Environmental Communication (Reviewer Environmental Communication Division of International Communication Association), Human Information and Communication Behavior for Environmental Sustenance (Doctoral thesis), Environmental Information (Several Research papers to Credit), Animal-Human Communication (Independent research) and New Media (Book chapter to credit). He is a Professional Photographer (Profile: national geographic your shot), Documentary Film Maker (Youtube Channel-Archan Mitra), Artist (padabi: Ankan Bibhakar), Graphics Designer (freelancer) and Junior Software Engineer (bonafide by NIELIT). He has worked as a Guest Teacher in Serampore College (Serampore, West Bengal) during the beginning of his academic career and later at Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya (Burdwan, West Bengal). Along with that, he has been an Art Teacher at a School (Anka Shekha (Fine Arts Training Centre) Chandernagore, West Bengal). He has worked as a Supervisor in West Bengal to carry out Pre Poll Lok Sabha Survey 2014. This study was sponsored by Zee News and was undertaken by TALEEM Research Foundation, Ahmedabad. He has been awarded certificate of merit by PRSI (Public Relations Society of India), Kolkata Chapter for securing highest marks in PR (Public Relations) in Masters Degree Examination 2012 and Awarded Medal of Honor by Journalistic Club of Kolkata for securing highest marks in Mass Communication of Jadavpur University Department of Adult Continuation and Extension in the year 2011. He has worked as a part of the team of The World Bank project “Environmental Capacity Building in Southeast Asia” at IIM Kashipur. He was monumental in launching the online course (MOOC) for Green MBA for The World Bank. He has various certifications in respective subjects like, Social Digital Marketing from Northwestern University, New Media Games and Literature from Vanderbilt University, Science Journalism from Indian Science Communication Society (ISCOS),
