About Argie Plakas

With over 8 years of experience in the fashion and media industry, I am passionate about leveraging my skills and knowledge to create positive social impact and business growth. As a Donations Procurement Manager at the National Council of Jewish Women, Inc.(NCJW), I manage the sourcing, selection, and pricing of high-quality donations for the NCJW resale shops, which support the organization's mission of advancing social justice for women, children, and families. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as a bilingual professional with a certificate in Film, TV and Video from UCLA and a background in broadcast journalism. In my current role, I use my expertise in social media marketing, event planning, and event management to promote the NCJW resale shops and engage potential donors and customers. I also apply my knowledge of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and merchandise management to ensure that the resale shops offer a curated and competitive selection of designer clothing and accessories. In addition, I collaborate with the NCJW staff and volunteers to develop and implement strategies for increasing donations, sales, and customer loyalty. I am proud to contribute to the NCJW's vision of creating a more equitable and compassionate society.
