About Ari Weitzner

I have been a general ophthalmologist since 1992, and between 2008 and 2018, I supervised residents, twice a week, in the clinic and O.R. at Kings County, where I focused on challenging cataract surgery. In 2008 I launched a website called ShareMedicalSpace.com which allows doctors to find one another for the purpose of making space-sharing arrangements, something that is fast-becoming a necessity among doctors coping with increasing expenses and falling reimbursements. This venture failed, but the idea of sharing space lives on in companies like AirBnB! One day, someone will figure out a similar model for doctors. in 2009 I launched, with a partner, a portal called EyeDocNews.com, which allows ophthalmologists to share and discuss opinions concerning treatments, techniques and technologies in the field of ophthalmology. This venture also failed- very challenging to come up with a web platform that can compete with so many other websites out there for doctors!
