About Ariane Ryan

Ariane leads WUSC's program design team, ensuring minimum $50 million per annum is mobilized from a diverse portfolio of funders (2024 raise of CAD100 million) while building a focused and innovative pipeline of programs grounded in partnerships. She is a skilled international development practitioner with over fifteen years of experience working in complex international development environments. She has designed, launched and managed innovative pilots as well as large scale programs funded by foundations and institutional donors as well as provided technical and strategic advice to a number of organizations. Ariane's technical background is in market systems development and Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE). For the past eight years, Ariane has also been leading the development of WUSC’s social finance portfolio, shepherding research, partnerships, investments and business development growing it to CAD75 million, while engaging senior leadership and building staff capacity. She represents WUSC amongst global community of practices, at conferences and on panels, is an experienced technical advisor and staff trainer, has managed large portfolio of global projects and has led research and publications.
