About Ariel Dunson

Ariel Dunson is a passionate and solution-oriented educator committed to creating equitable change in the education system. Ariel supports educators and students at Nevada Rise Academy Charter School as the administrative school program coordinator. She also serves as the Board Chair of Directors of Do and Be Arts Academy Charter School. Ariel has worked with various schools and organizations to create free dance showcases in the community such as Bruner Elementary School, Democracy Prep Charter School, Matt Kelly Elementary School, and the Las Vegas Kids Latin Caribbean Festival. She received three awards for her contributions to the Las Vegas community: the 2017 30 under 30 Caribbean-American Emerging Leaders and Changemakers Award, the 2017 Teach For America Las Vegas's Personal Growth Award, and the 2019 Teach For America Las Vegas's Social Innovation Community Award to create a free summer dance camp for children. In 2021, she was a morning inspirational speaker at TFA's Las Vegas Regional Kickoff for second year teachers. Ariel has participated in multiple teacher fellowships to acquire knowledge on providing equitable education for children in Las Vegas. She was a member of the Teach for America (TFA) 2023 Aspiring School Leadership Fellowship, the 2021 PilotEd Identify Fellowship, the 2021 TFA Teacher Leader Excellence Cohort, the 2020 TFA School to Prison Pipeline Cohort, and the 2019 TFA Social Innovation Cohort 2019. Ariel loves to empower the young minds of the community through culturally responsive teaching, arts integration academics, project-based learning, and social-emotional learning. She has experience teaching dance, elementary special education, mentoring teachers, leading professional development, and planning school events.
