About Ariel Yu

I was born and raised in China and gained higher education in the U.K. I'm a fast learner, responsible and well organized. Through my experiences, I have developed effective communication skills with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. Being adaptable, bilingual and hard-working allow me to be a true team player. I'm proud for earning an MA in Creative and Media Enterprises from University of Warwick after earning a BS in Communication and Media from Loughborough University. Having plenty of major life changes in the past 10 years has not allowed me to have as much professional work experience as many of my peers, but it has built my ability to be adaptable and open minded. I worked as a full time English teacher for Chinese students of various ages and backgrounds and I briefly worked as an account manager helping communicate between Chinese customers and British co-workers. These working experiences tested and enhanced my communication, organization, presentation, time-management and team-working skills that I had developed through my academic studies, student societies, practical internships and volunteering in various events. During the time that I cannot work for immigration reasons, I have never allowed myself to stop improving. I passed the Business English Certificate (BEC) Higher with a C2 ranking in 2018. Since then, I've been working on the China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI), learning Japanese and taking acting and voiceover classes to continue advancing my skills. I enjoy acting, singing, traveling and cultural communication. I am always positive, flexible and encouraging when I'm working and talking with people. I have passion for any job that requires me to work with people, face challenges, learn and adapt in new environments.
