About Arijeet Roy

Ever since memory serves, I have been obsessed with automobiles, mimicking a hangar as a steering wheel to any object as a vehicle. As time passed the obsession grew with intrigue in actual mechanisms leading me to pursue MSc in Automotive and Motorsport Engineering. During academics, I have worked on several projects involving material testing, design, static structural and fluid dynamic analysis. Giving me a thorough understanding of material behaviour, design techniques and analysis concepts. For my masters' thesis, I had conducted a parametric study investigating design factors influencing drag and downforce. I have been working in design for seven and a half years and have felt the urge to pursue new challenges. I have undertaken training through Automotive Skill Development Council of India revising and updating my skills. During my time there I have been part of projects involving drop tests and crash analysis giving me a thorough understanding of non-linear and dynamic analysis. I believe my greatest strengths lie in my problem-solving nature with thinking out of the box and never say die attitude. I also value others' advice and opinions. I look for inspiration all around and believe in Occam's razor. Being a perfectionist has been a bit of a hindrance resulting in me investing more time than required, hopefully, with a conscious effort, I have been able to put that issue to rest. In personal time, I am teaching underprivileged kids and mentoring budding engineers. Catch up with friends, long drives/trips, learn new skills and of course Formula 1.
