Arijit is regularly consulted on Legal and Regulatory issues in corporate; power sector and infrastructure sectors. For over 18 years, his focussed domain and specialist areas of legal practice has been on corporate transactions, policy making, reforms in power and other infrastructure sectors such as ports, water, road and inland water transportation etc, regulatory interventions, legislative drafting, drafting and structuring of project documents/contracts viz. power purchase agreements, FIDIC based EPC contracts etc; and providing necessary support in litigation and alternate dispute resolution strategies. He has been at the forefront of several unique regulatory initiatives and has also achieved success in cutting edge litigation before the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, Appellate Tribunal for Electricity and various Regulatory Commissions/Quasi Judicial Bodies on important matters having a pan India impact. For several years he has been advising Electricity Regulatory Commissions, water sector regulators, national and multinational clients. He is extensively experienced in legal and regulatory affairs of infrastructure sectors. He also maintains a substantial corporate advisory practice in areas of amalgamations, joint venture and acquisitions etc. Arijit is often invited to speak on various aspects of utility reform and regulation, infrastructure laws and legal literacy and legal aspects for power/energy sector professionals at various important forums including National Power Training Institute of Ministry of Power etc He has authored the article “ The one megawatt conundrum” in Business Standard ( Jan 23, 2012) relating to open access on electricity distribution network.
