About Arik Parenteau

I have always had a passion for learning. This led me to attend the University of Minnesota Duluth and receive a BA in Philosophy and a BS in Mathematics. One of the classes required for my Math degree was a Computer Science class where I learned C++. This sparked my interest in programming, which resulted in me later attending Lake Superior College to get a certificate in Computer and Web Programming. On the surface math and philosophy appear quite different, but they are both centered around logic. Part of what I love about programming is it offers a creative way to use logic to assess problems and create solutions. Recently, I have enjoyed learning game design through Unity and C#. With free game assets I created a space shooter styled game and a block breaker styled game. I am looking to continue growing my skills in writing code through software development. As someone at the beginning of his programming journey, I am excited to keep learning and see where it takes me.
