About Aritra Chakrabarty

Passionate about energy equity based policy research to improve energy access in underserved communities. I am an energy and climate justice researcher with a passion for advancing equitable renewable energy transitions. I recently earned my PhD in Environmental and Energy Policy, where I focused on how gender justice and community-based energy systems can shape more sustainable outcomes. My doctoral research examined energy equity in India’s renewable energy transition, using feminist and socio-technical lenses. Through an ethnographic case study of a community solar program in rural India, I identified policy design strategies to improve energy access and gender equity. Core expertise - energy policy analysis; gender and development in energy access; climate policy & international relations; community based energy solutions. I am eager to continue driving impact through postdoctoral research or policy analysis roles in energy and climate justice. I thrive in collaborative, interdisciplinary environments where I can contribute my skills in research, stakeholder engagement, and policy design to foster sustainable, equitable energy solutions.
